CEO of Stringr. Lindsay Stewart, a former tv news producer, used to sift through limited options for current news video, either their on-site staff, freelancers, or mostly searching the internet and social media channels for the video she was seeking. The struggle to find the right video for her storytelling became the bedrock of her pitch she would give to her eventual cofounder Brian McNeil in business school.
Today, Stringr is a maturing online marketplace that brings media organizations and freelancer videographers together where the client can request footage and pay upon delivery.
Since its initial launch in 2013, Stringr has added partnerships with Getty Images and others for still photos as well as a live streaming feature that companies can access straight from the platform. Lindsay joins the show to discuss the progress they’ve made with over 120,000 freelancers on the site and some of the biggest media brands using their service.
